Abstrac: This paper presents an overview of systematising teacher training institutions in several countries around the world and investigates the limitations of Vietnam’s teacher training system. Based on the practical survey and analyzing the opinion of educational experts, the paper proposes a number of solutions for restructuring the teacher training system in Vietnam to overcome the limitations of planning the teacher training institutions and developing their competencies, thereby review, arrange and form a number of key pedagogical universities and other satellite pedagogical universities/ colleges to meet the current requirements of teacher training education.

Abstract: What is mathematics? This question is answered very differently. This article shows that school mathematics has epistemological differences to modern university mathematics. One important difference is that school mathematics is ontologically bound to reality whereas modern mathematics has detached itself from it. Due to this empirical character, school mathematics can be described as a quasi-natural science. The article discusses epistemological parallels to physics and the possibilities for collaboration between mathematics and physics education research.

Abstract: In recent years, quality assurance-based administration of curricula, especially teacher training courses, has received a lot of global attention. Numerous attempts have been made to investigate the quality assurance, curricula, administration of curricula in general and teacher training curricula in particular. ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA), a system of quality assurance, is being used by a network of universities in South East Asia. This system has caught tremendous attention from Vietnamese researchers and educators in the past few years. Various curricula have been registered for evaluation and a number of those have been certified to meet the AUN-QA’s standards. Therefore, it may be high time for teacher training universities to implement AUN-QA in their administration of current high school teacher training curricula.

Abstract: To develop the content of teacher training programs, it is advisable to take into account the knowledge and skills to promote cooperation and consensus, and to boost the development of the whole staff and organization, rather than just focus only on individual teacher’s personal development, but we must also. Asssessment of teacher development aims at evaluating human development. Therefore, its result must integrate the core elements of personel quality. The integration and quantification of these elements into an evaluation index is important to the management and development of teachers. This article sets out the guideline for teacher management using human resource theory and introduces a method for assessing the development of teachers by index.

Abstract: Innovation in teacher training content is a solution to the current lack of integration of knowledge areas in competence-based training programs. Moreover, it's the targeted competences that decide the teaching content. In order to equip teachers with profound knowledge to be educators, researchers and culture experts, there is an urgent need to reform the teaching content, which is supposed to include three areas of knowledge: general knowledge, professional knowledge and pedagogical knowledge.
