Abstract: This paper presents the findings from the interviews with teachers and students in some high schools in the northern mountainous provinces in Vietnam regarding the limitations and challenges in Geometry teaching and learning practice. The research also reveals the outcome of the application of some softwares to support the Geometry teaching for high school ethnic minority students in the mountainous northern region Vietnam.

08. Developing abductive reasoning of students through teaching Geometry at secondary school

Abstract: The paper presents the importance of developing abductive reasoning ability for students at secondary school. In fact of teaching, author confirms important role of abductive reasoning in geometric proof. As result, author proposed the components of abduction competency and some pedagogical measures with aim to develop creative thinking and the positive of students. The research results show the feasibility of developing abductive reasoning for students at secondary schools.
